Tip of the Month
Firstly: What devices will run iOS5?
iPhones models: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S
Others – iPod Touch 3rd and 4th gen, iPad and iPad 2
Secondly: Update your iTunes to the latest version…
Your iTunes might have asked you to update otherwise click the Apple menu, then Software Update to get the iTunes update.
Thirdly: Back up your device…
But you’ve already done that correct? If not, do it now! Back up by connecting you device to your computer, open iTunes, selecting your device and clicking Sync. Letting your device fully Sync with iTunes will let it grab all it’s information and data and save it on your computer.
Finally, update…
Technically iTunes will detect your device and let you now that there is a update available for it – however if you don’t have this option or clicked cancel at some point, then simply click the “Check for Update” button in the Summary panel in iTunes.
This will start the download from the Apple servers. Once complete, your device will restart and begin installing iOS 5.
Let us know if you have any troubles with the update and we can certainly help if you need to restore.
